Strangers paying each other's bills.

Settlor (settlor.co.uk) is a website and app where people who cannot pay a specific bill post it, anonymously, and people who have more than enough pay it, directly to the power company, landlord or school. No money passes through Settlor, there are no fees, and every bill is checked by a person before it goes live. It launched in Norway in November 2026 and works in any country and currency.

Energy prices and rents have turned ordinary months into emergencies for households that are not poor on paper. Traditional giving puts a wall of organisations between the person who has and the person who needs. Settlor removes the wall: you see the actual invoice, you pay the actual biller, and you see it marked settled.

The idea in one line: wealth, meet the monthly bill.

• Someone posts a bill with the invoice and the biller's payment details. A reviewer checks it by hand.
• It goes live anonymously: city, country, amount, biller and a short story. Never a name.
• A giver swipes through bills in the app, picks one, pays the biller by bank, PayPal or Revolut, and uploads the receipt.
• The receipt is checked and the bill is marked settled. Both sides are notified by email.
